AAS (Advanced Authoring System) is developed by Roddy Ramieson, whose pages at www.aas-ta.com are the primary information source.

The Advanced Authoring System consists of an Integrated Development Environment (AASide) and an interpreter (AASexe). The source language is XML-based and the tools are written in Java; these characteristics are just one of the system's remarkable features, and help to make AAS available in a wide variety of environments. The system is aimed at IF newcomers, especially those whose interests tend towards one-on-one personal interaction.

The AAS version of "Cloak of Darkness", written by Roddy Ramieson (roddy@outgun.com), was published around the beginning of April 2003.
